In late February, HR 990 was introduced by Representative Peter T. King (R-NY) in the House of Representatives. HR 990, or the Commuter Benefit Parity Act of 2015, would bring equality between the transit and parking benefits at $235/month.
At present, there are four Republicans and four Democrats that have co-sponsored the bill. If you would like to provide your elected officials with input and ask them to support the bill, please visit www.CommuterBenefitsWorkForUs.com.
CBW4U is a coalition of organizations with the purpose of promoting transit and vanpooling through the use of federal, state and local tax programs in order to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality while supporting American families and the general economy.
